I restore mustangs as a hobby, BUT the bottom line is, I know how much a car will sell for, I know ROUGHLY what it cost for catolog parts, I know of some OTHER sources too. (A old bone yard that the owner is retiring from and gives me SMOKING deals on used parts- he knows there isn't much money in them, so he prices my parts acordingly).

That leaves me with how long will it take, and how much do I need to make to pay bills... Whats left is what I can pay for a 'project'.

IE, I am getting a K code COUPE in 'trade' I will be in it $500.00-$1000.00 + time. about 2 weeks. maybe 3 -- so I am getting a good deal on the 'roller'.

Okay, it needs a 289 and 4 speed. that will cost me about 3500.00 for date code correct parts. about $4000.00 in NEW parts. plus a very nice paint job (which I do myself), I can do EVERY step of the 'resteration' stripping it, metal work, interior, headliner, wiring etc = 2 months total. I will be in the car under 10,000.00 should get 15,000-$20,000.00 out of it. "SHOULD".

Thats how you can make money, not great money, but something on a 'project car'. OR the smart money is. I get it, and sell it for $7500.00 as it sits right now. and let the next guy hire to have it restored. and he will be in $30,000.00 when done, and sell it for $40.000 (he hopes, after 6 months). But there is no love in it for me if I become a 'dealer'.

Anybody want to 'order' a 65 K - koupe? OR D code 4/64 convertble? (doing one of them too). -Or an A code 66? almost finished with that one lol...

    John

I am picking up sometime this spring a 65 mustang Coupe, its a real K car. I am doing a trading my neighbor out of it.

The car was parked in a cow pasture in 1983 its sat there since. Before then, it was used as a drag car. Nice 'goddy' scoop on the hood. The door tag is gone, but it was a stick. it needs part of 1 floor repaired. Rest looks good. Originl 9" rear end still there. but original 289 and manual are long gone, and the motor mounts are gone too (as I recall).

I have restored several mustangs. Thinking about restoring this one too. but would 'flip it' if I had the right offer. CLEAR title comes with the car. Mighta been a gt, but? Its a 'roller' right now.

Anybody interested in 'ordering' it a certain way? I have examples of past work available too. Located In Oregon

I have a 8" rear end form a 1965 mustang,it was a C code 3 speed car. BUT it came form the factory with a 2.71 LIMITED SLIP rear end. I used to have the data code for the door, but lost it. the code on the door was 'limited slip'. I removed the COMPLETE rear end. e-brake cable too. I am running a 67 rear end in the stang.

I live in Oregon, and will ship it u-ship probably be the only way to ship this part.

I can take some video clips of it, not frozen, and in good shape. Open for trades or sale.

I was hired to build a 65 mustang for a family member. Okay, "DONE RIGHT". I found a SUPER STRAIGHT, rust free 66 A code coupe. only problem, I went over budget on it! So I need to sell it and build him another one! A code is the factory 225 horse, 289 4 barrel car.

The 'original 289 and c4 were 'tired' so they came out -on the floor of the shop right now, if the buyer had to have them.

I put a HEALTHY 302 from my wife's personal 71 mustang into it (I know its a good motor) the c4 too.

I put a gt350R fiberglass valance on it, (welded up the bumper bracket fender holes). I put gt350R side scoops on, I put the gt350 hood scoop on, I also CUT THE TAIL PANEL! for cougar tail lights. -love it or deal braker!

I put POWER BRAKES on the car. It was a factory A/C car, so I am putting A/C back on it. It has a NICE new interior going in it. I painted it Metalic blue, WITH 10" wide WHITE racing stripes, and putting the gt350 Side stripes on too. Clear coated with ppg BEST concept clear. (cutt and buffed).

The car is about 10 days from being finished. This is the car you want, when a 'restorer' builds a car for a family member, you know its the one to get! I can email more or chat more if serious.

    Thanks John
