To answer a few questions yes it does run and drive. It runs very well, strong and loud... It has headers with straight pipes. And no, sorry I don't have the original exhaust manifolds. I would still plan on having it trailered though since it hasn't been on the road much lately.

Welcome to Street Dreams online auction... In January I enjoyed watching the Barrett-Jackson live auction on Speed It appears to me the real deal rare cars are still in high demand and the classic car market is still strong! I still feel over the long haul collector cars are still a nice place to place my money. We have almost 2 million dollars invested in classic cars. We are not a huge consignment house we own our cars. We are pleased to offer this sweet Mustang. My understanding is there were only around 5000 K codes per year produced. Rotisserie restored. The market may make buyers nervous but if one looks over the past 5 years, documented muscle cars have proven to be a good place to invest your money. Guess what? You can touch it! feel it! and even drive your investment...vs. looking at a piece of paper or the up and downs of the stock market. Our sales in the past have been good when the stock market goes down. I like knowing my money is in my possession and control. Just me though. When is the last time you have seen one of these? A Mustang Fastback with the super rare K-code engine option. This car Features the GT equipment White stripes, fog-lights, front disc brakes and factory duals exiting the rear valence (One of my all time favorite exhaust exits). The real rarity is the famous hi-po 271 horsepower, 289 V-8 with 10.5:1 compression and a solid lifter high performance camshaft, 4bbl carb. This engine also has the "Cobra" aluminum intake manifold. These engines pull fantastic and have a very distinctive sound with the solid lifters ticking away. I have included a picture of the vin stamp on the block. the 6T09K is clear the other letters are hard to read which are stamped on the passenger side of block The casting number is C5AE-6015E and date code 5L6 Engine built November 6th day 1965. This rare Pony was assembled at the Metuchen, NJ. plant on November 26th. The door jam tag has the veh id # plus the following: color code X = Vintage Burgundy (color code 26) The interior is standard black The DSO was #12 which was Buffalo. Axle is 5= 3.50 (9 inch Ford rear) Trans is 5 = 4 speed manual transmission The Vehicle ID number is stamped on the drivers side inner fender. The Styled steel Rally wheels are stamped "Made in U.S.A." 14". The car has the Optional flasher in the glove box, Fold down rear seat which look so sporty. It was restored about 4 years ago. The door jams look super nice and the car is very straight. The fit and fitment of this classic Mustang is very good. The undercarriage has been done in the correct Red Oxide primer. This rare piece of American history is one step beneath the famous Shelby GT 350. Ford was setting all time sales records in 1966 with the Mustang

I am not an bonified expert on these cars but have tried to take as many photos as I can to show you the car.

Thank You for visiting our online auction

RARE !!! RARE!!!! FAIRLY PRICED !! VIN # 5F07K394475 This listing is for a Beautiful 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe with the matching #'s 289 High Performance engine and the 4 speed transmission. Please see the pics off of the engine and trans. This car has 271 factory horsepower and , yes, it is a true "K" code. This is very rare to still have the original drivetrain and is more valuable and desirable with matching #'s. Last registered owner owned this car for over 25 years and was in a private collection of rare Mustangs in the Kansas City area. A true collector's car and sure to satisfy the purist of Mustangs. This is a very nice Mustang K code that is solid and straight. The Vintage Burgundy paint and white vinyl top are in nice condition and this car is in better condition than a driver. This car is nice enough to be shown regularly and some engine detailing would really make it stand out more. It is that nice !! The black interior with the floor console and correct shifter are near mint condition ......The headliner is great and all the soft trim items are nice also... This car drives tight and stops straight and true. All lights, gauges, heater, wipers, etc... everything works as it should !! The engine sounds and runs great, without hesitation. The 4 speed shifts smooth and the clutch releases smoothly and without chatter. The exhaust system was changed to the GT style that exits the rear valance because the previou owner likes that setup. It has a beautiful set of 14" styled steel wheels and red line radial tires. It sure drives nice! If you are looking for a K code car that can be driven with frequency and without problems , then this is the car for you. YOU WILL NOT FIND A NICER K CODE MUSTANG (and matching #'s to boot) FOR LESS $$$$$$. Please call with questions on this Pony! New E-Bay Listing: 65 K Coupe BIN of $45k or "Make Offer"

    By Seller:"texas muscle cars"

    In McKinney, TX

    Listing Info:

Are you ready for this one? The K-Code Mustang was built between 1965-1967. It came from the factory with a special 289 High Performance cubic inch engine beneath its hood. People often ask how the K-Code engine was different from the others featured in the 65 to 67 Mustangs. Well think PERFORMANCE. For starters this engine featured upgraded pistons, cylinder heads, carburetor, lifter heads, and connecting rods. In addition, one look under the hood and you'd notice the chrome air cleaner and valve covers.

But wait, there's more. The differences didn't stop there. In fact, the entire driveline of these cars was designed for performance. We're talking about a high-performance clutch, drive shaft, rear differential, and suspension. These days, collectors of the Ford Mustang look back fondly on the K-Code. As such, they are highly sought after. Unfortunately only a limited number of these engines were produced between 1963 to 1967, and even fewer K-Code Mustangs. If you own one, you own a valued piece of history. Well, you can now be the official owner of a piece of history.

This 1965 Real K-Code Mustang has had a Rotisserie Restoration. It was a California Car with no Rust. The Original Data Plate is still on the car and reads as follows:

Body-65A (2 Door Hardtop, Standard Interior)

    Color-7 (Phoenician Yellow)

Trim-26 (Black Crinkle Vinyl, Standard Interior)

    Date-24J (September 24, 1964)

    DSO-72 (San Jose)

    Axle-8 (3.89:1, conventional)

    Trans-5 (4-Speed Manual)

Upon request, we will send you a photo of the VIN that is located on the door and on the fender.

On the Exterior, you will find the Factory Correct Phoenician Yellow, Red Line Tires, Chrome Front and Rear Bumpers, Chrome L/H Outside Mirror, Chrome Window Trim, Color Coded Roof Rail Drip, Vent Windows, Outside Radio Antenna.

Moving on to the Interior, you will find the Factory Correct Black Crinkle Vinyl Interior, Bucket Seats, Floor Shift, Rally Pac Gauges which include the Tachometer and Clock, Pushbutton Radio, Armrests, Padded Sunvisors, Defrost, Padded Door Panels with Chrome Trim, and Chrome Trim on the Dash.

Mechanically, this car was built from the Factory for Performance. It has the 289 K-Code HiPo Engine, 4 Speed Manual Transmission, 3.89:1 Conventional Rear Axle.

This car speaks for itself in quality. This K-Code is Absolutely Stunning. The Photos do not do this car justice.

Here is some info I received in a reply email from Mel:

"The motor was traded to me as an “as removed” K code 289 from a 1965 Mustang. Further research leads me to believe it is actually from an early Fairlane. This is the first marketing of this engine. I have attached some pics and an excel spreadsheet of numbers and markings I have been able to find on the parts. It is a 5 bolt block and has some old weld repairs to the top two transmission bolt holes. I am not well versed on these engines but not completely ignorant either. Let me know any more info you need. We are located in Spokane, WA. No VIN stamped on this motor. Lots more pics available. Make an offer.

    Thanx,

    Mel
