Good ideas. I suspect synthetic has even less of those original ingrediants. I think I'll use convetional 10w30.

What brand and weight of oil works best in a 60,000 mile K code engine? I just changed my oil from an unknown type and weight to Ford synthetic 5w20 and now engine has a valve tapping noise.

My linkage is indeed a Hurst. Shifter is original style bent shifter, similar to if not the same as the Mustang's, just installed backwards. Thanks for the info.

Is the K code's stock 4 speed transmission a toploader? I assummed it was, but noticed reverse gear is down to the left, whereas the reverse gear in my Cobra replica's toploader is up to the left.

That would be a great picture!

I was successful in drilling. Console's mounted and seems sturdy. Thanks for the tips. Next, I'll be mounting a set of Coker dual red line radials.

You're right. I believe my console was added after the fact. I removed it to paint and recondition it and upon reinstalling, I've noticed there are no screw holes in trans tunnel. The screws appear to have previously only gone into the carpet. Even though it appeared sturdy, I'm thinking of drilling into tunnel. Any reason not to?

You're right. No heater or radio. Does anyone know if the console was part of the Interior decor package or was it added after the fact?

Thanks qballl. I never would have figured it out on my own!

Savannah. Still can't figure out the picture posting.

Thanks Charlie, but I believe Accumatch is a lacquer and it won't work over enamel. I wish I had used a lacquer earlier.

Who makes the best matching enamel interior spray paint? I painted my console with Rainbow's enamel and the match was not good, so to repaint, I must stick with Enamel.

I'll try to figure out the picture posting info. I have a copy of what is supposed to be an original window sticker, but I question one item on it. It looks authentic, but the selling dealer is in Jacksonville, Florida yet the DSO on the VIN plate on the car is 21, indicating Atlanta. Being a Ford dealer myself, I know Jacksonville was in the Jacksonville District. Something's not right. How can I get or find a build sheet? I wouldn't think Ford would keep records that long.

I'm a new member who recently bought a 65 GT fastback with interior decor group, rally pack, console, no radio and heater delete. It's been repainted but in great shape. I'm fixing a number of small items and seem to be ordering parts daily. I'd post a few pictures here if I could figure it out how to do so. I also own a Unique Cobra kit car. I'm a regular reader of ClubCobra and UniqueCobra forums and look forward to reading this one regularly,
