I've noticed my OEM sending unit has a 260 stamped in it and tends to read low (1st white line in the normal band) at normal temp, I replaced it with one stamped 240 and gauge reads about 3/4 of the way to H at normal temp. I wonder if the number is related to when the gauge pegs IE: 260 degrees or 240 degrees

So I'm assuming this is not a Hipo pump. If I get it rebuilt and use it for looks will it pump sufficient fuel. Kar is driven and see's occasional drag racing (1,2 times a year). Thanks for all the info!

It looks like a second smaller lever (bracket) is inserted in the lever and the spring rests on that. Number on arm is 177-220

7BOA is my best guess as to what is stamped on the other side. A is stamped differently than the other letters. Also looks like there might be a 7 next to the S.

Here are some pics of the fuel pump off of my Kar, it was leaking so its been replaced with a Carter M6588 for now. This was a Hipo service replacement reman pump purchased from Ford in the mid 80's. Theres no spring under the button, the only stamping left is an S. Any ideas?

Is it similar to this? Been on my Kar since new.

I was meant as good natured fun, sorry if it was taken otherwise. I've had some Mustangs that could barely be classified as cars due to rust or neglect but still drove them as much as I could. I just love hearing that car wind out, and the old Autolite starter cranking away.

The paint job and the keystone mags don't help either.

Found this on youtube, beutiful sound of a Hipo 289 winding out on the highway thru open headers. Check out how fast he's passing cars!

Antifreeze on the oil pan bolts next to the vin stamp is not a good sign.

Shock tower braces are installed upside down! Shifter angle looks wrong too, galaxie handle?

Yes, ordered brand new by my Dad! From what I've read only deluxe interiors were color coded, but I'm sure variations got thru like always.

My 66 rally pac is black. Standard int, unrestored original family car.

I had the same problem on a cleveland and it ended up being some weak valve springs. Car ran fine as long as I kept it below 4,000 RPM, as soon as I went above it bent the pushrods.

Yes, I also had a set of older non Marti repro wires split a boot. Only missed under load and drove me crazy for a little while. The split was not visible until I removed the boot.

Installed per family photos of the Kar

Heres a pic of the Concours service recommendation decal compared to an old repro one. Size is different, printing is much better, lineweight is finer, material its printed on seems like a metal foil. Looking at picture of my Koupe from the old days it always kept jumping out at me. now I'm happy with the more original look. Made by ECS and I got it from NPD along with some of their other concours decals, all are superior in quality.

Yes, 76C and 65C would be a bench seat car, listed as not available for fastback cars. Only would be a 63A for standard int and 63B for deluxe int.

I vote for TMS, would be more central (and closer to me!)

My dad complained that on my Koupe the remote mirror has interfered with the vent window since day one. This is a Metuchen Kar
