Ok...found some BF goodwrench radial TA's that are a 245 60 14...so this should still be ok for me..I think and hope..now what is the correct size rim info ..All I think I know is that i need a 14x7 rim..but what is the backspacing and bolt pattern..does that make sense>?

I know this is a hipo spot...but I have a question for my 65 2+2..decided to put it back on the road..having problems figuring out what going to work on my car as far as rim and tire goes..

I have some 600lbs rated front springs that lowered it from stock height and the rear leafs are a reverse eye set up that also lowers the car..I used to run 14 inch torque thrust D's with some dunlop gt qualifers that were a 245 50 R14

but I cant find anyone selling those tire sizes anymore online...I would like to stay with the 14 inch rim and a 245 tire as its the widest I can go without rubbing..I used to run 265s in the back and they were always getting shreded with every bump in the road..anyhow not sure how a 15 inch rim would sit and the appropriate tire for it...any ideas or help would be appreciated..

Hey there...car is in restoration phase right now...our original window mouldings are a bit dull from age but still nice with the slightest of slightest surface scratch here and there..nothing deep that you can feel...so question is ...how or what is the best way some of you have cleaned these up or polished to look factory fresh again??? I dont want to go and get some polishing compounds and go at it and polish them up to look like shiny chrome if that is not the way they are supposed to be?? So yea not very sure of how shiny they should be...soooo what have you all used to shine them up for some major trophy showing and what did you use for any minor scratches??

    Thanks guys..

Hey Don..just thought I would chime in..seen some close up pics you sent me...your housing is dead nuts on for sure..however it looks to perfect..especially your welds...way nice ...I have seen a few rear ends in my day and none of them looked as clean as yours..so once under the car I would say if it looks like a chicken and sounds like one ...then it is ...just as you say however in this hobby and I am sure you can appreciate it..there is something really special and important about original factory parts to allot if not most all enthusiasts..and if it is not original then it is just not original..I think your rear end would get dinged in a show because of your welds being not factory looking ..however with all that being said I would still use one of your housings as it is the BEST one I have seen...BUT it is still and after market repo part..BUT made in the good ol U.S.of A

Very nice looking engine compartment..thank you so much for responding and posting those pics..we tried the spray paint and that came out crappy..it has all been chemically stripped back down to metal ...we want to have it done from a spray gun...we are going for a concourse show finish/factory look..so we were trying to figure out was it a flat black or semi gloss black..or was it a ford specific black?? I am of the mind its more of a flat black?? or a flat with the slightest gloss?? Just not sure but its going to be a show car..

The Motorcraft belt will not be correct for show. Buy the FoMoCo repro from NPD or your favorite vendor. If you want a true repro I think Marti still does date codes on special order.

You mean he will take a NPD belt and put a date code on it?? So let me get this right ..a factory original belt will have a FoMoCo marking...a C5 part number..(still would like to know the complete number) and a date code also...is there any other markings on it I should know about?? I am asking all these questions as I am trying to find an NOS one and when I come across one I want to make sure its the real deal and not a NPD one that someone thinks is original..PICS PICS...

How is the date code formated?? PICS PICS

Thanks so much...I could not get anyone to confirm for me the actual size for a hipo belt...although the dealer could not confirm that the part number I gave him was for a 66 hipo engine..he said it just was still available for 20 bucks ...does anyone know the actual original part number for the belt? C3 or C4 part?? any other description of what should be on the belt as far as markings?? anyone have pics of an original belts markings?? I am sure other than that its just a black belt right ...

Last time I checked this was still available from Ford. Ford Part# C9PZ-8620-GMA, Motorcraft# JB-414-L1. The markings won't be correct for concours but it is the correct replacement belt.

well called ford dealer and they said they could order the belt with the motor craft part number..he told me that its a 41.4 inch belt hence the part number..I called my local auto store and they give a 40 inch belt for a standard 289 engine...so about a 1.5 inch difference for a hipo belt?? does that sound about right to anyone here???

yes the aternator belt...was hoping to find an NOS one for the 66 hipo..I have been informed that it is a C5OE belt..but not sure what the entire number is..not sure what the belt is marked with..fomoco..part number?? Not sure if its actual size so that I can keep an eye out for the correct belt..
