    Hi,

I checked today and it seems like humidity are the only factor for me.

Today it was a dry day and the engine ran 0,8 points leaner than last day. The temperature was almost the same, appx 68.

Based on this and my observations I think I can agree on your theory.

    Hi,

I can see the same variations here, however the temperature ranges are a bit different.

I did setup my a/f ratio when it was around 68, and when I ran the car a couple of days later when the temperature was around 90 it started running a lot leaner.

I have not tried without the paxton, but it would seem natrural for me that the more air mens bigger variations.

What are your A/F readings in the different conditions?

    Hi,

I finally got everything where I want it to be.

I changed to 68 jets and the engine now idles at 13,5 and sits around 13 when cruising.

At WOT it is 11, which I feels is a bit high, but nothing to worry about – better rich than lean!

Thanks again for all your help!

    Hi,

I have been away from the internet fro quite some time now and I saw I had a typo on my last reply. My primaries are 70 and my secondaries are 83.

I'm using a brand new k&n filter and have also tried to remove the filter, and the number did not change significantly.

Should I try stepping down to 68 on the primaries or more?

I had some more reading on google and some more adjustments - I did not know that the kickdown was controlled mechaically <img src=images/icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle>

The carb I have is a Holley 650 DP, and I would believe that I have size 45 jets.

The AFR is 11 at cruising and around 12 when accelrating slowly and appx the same when I have WOT.

Should I try going down 2 sizes?

    What size do you have?

    Hi Ray,

thanks for taking time to help here!

First of all, checked the fuel pressure now and its 8 at idle and appx 11 at full boost, so this sounds correct.

On the kickdown, this cable goes from the intake to the gearbox. Do you mean it wil help to take the pressure from the carb?

Not sure about the jetting. The carb was delivered by Craig and set up properly on his engine, but altitude and engine spcs may vary. How much lower do you reccomend to go down on the jetting?

I have finally got the SC installed and my first impression is that it runs great, much more responsive and a lot better acceleration.

I have a couple of questions.

My AFR is 13.5 at idle, but around 11 when cruising, is this normal?

My oil pressure is appx 50 psi and the fuel pressure is appx 9, is this ok?

The kick down has stopped working. I assume this has something to do about the pressure. Any suggestions?

I spent a good number of hours on the Internet to find some matching instruments. I know the Vac/boost gauge has a too high scale to get an accurate reading. This was mostly meant to be an indication on when there is any boost at all.

All my instruments are analog and electronic not mechanical, so I don't need an isolator.

Where do you recommend me to place the MAP sensor for the boost/vac gauge?

I have considered to start drilling in the existing door, I'm just not sure how it will look.

Ill try to see what alternatives I have and go for the existing door if the alternatives does not look good at all.

Yes I landed on the same conclusion that the door would be the nicest location. Im not sure if Im gonna make a wooden plate and try to get the same finish as the rest of the console or make something in steel.

I ended up with Autometer gauges. Wide ratio Air/Fuel, boost/vac, fuel pressure and oil pressure.

Together with my supercharger I have also bought 4 extra instruments.

I see that most people have this mounted under the dash, but this would cause some problems for me as I have a full length console. Any suggestion on where to mount it? I was thinking about the console lid.

Also can anyone point out if it is a good idea to connect all instruments to the middle pin of the ignition switch?

Thanks for the pictures Z Ray.

What extra instruments do you have?

    EGT and Fuelpressure?

    What brand are they?

Where are you routing the hose that comes from the valve covers?

Z Ray, did you buy your carb from Craig?

From the quote I got from him it seems a bit pricy compared to summit.

If you have any pictures of your setup that would be great.

Either by mail or in this forum.

Just talked to Craig and he had the vintage Paxtons at the price mentioned here.

He also recommended me a Holley 650 DP to further improve the performance.

Can anyone give me an advice wherever I should buy the 650 or do the required mods to the original carb?

    Hi,

I have read a couple of the Paxton posts in this forum and it looks like this is the way I want go to get some more power out of my engine.

Where can I buy a classic Paxton?

Are there any modifications I need to do to the engine? It’s a standard Hipo engine with arvinode exhaust.
