I have followed the Arvinode system with great interest, and was wowed with the youtube clip and the sound produced. But my car has a 347 in it and I have a larger tube system. I would like to know if the parts producing the sound can be fit to a 2" pipe system, or do they need to be sized down? many of us with cars not following the letter of the orginal design are searching for the right sound, and the Arvinode sounds very like what I and others might want, should it be do-able..... anyone else?

We now offer a 2 1/4" version of the Arvinode system. It is louder than the 2" system, especially under heavy load/WOT conditions (not that any of you drive your cars under those conditions)

The outer diameter of the resonators (both the front and rear units) is 3" instead of 2 3/4".

    UPDATE FROM WALDRON'S

We had many requests for Arvinode systems from customers who wanted to install them with GT trumpets. Thanks to the cooperation of Arvinode customer Robert Conrad, we can now offer two additional versions of the Arvinode duals with special rear resonators; one version accepts the standard 1 3/4" trumpets and the second accepts the available 2" trumpets.

We can provide this option at our regular prices (Base: $379 plus shipping, Concours: $499 plus shipping).

These prices do not include the trumpets; customers can order the trumpets directly from their favorite Mustang supplier OR we can procure them for you if desired.

Thanks for your continued interest and support!

The Calyx suggestion is a good one; it is a great product.

I have also had good results with a light coat of VHT "Flameproof" Satin Clear on cleaned steel pipes. Don't apply a heavy coating; if applied too thickly, it will yellow when subjected to operating temperatures.

And for best results, follow the curing procedure recommended on the label.

    Update from Waldron's:

I tried to post an update a few days ago and it did not appear in this thread; hopefully I will get it right this time!

First of all, we want to thank all of you for your patience and patronage. Due to part availability, we had to ship the initial systems without clamps. The correct clamps finally arrived and all of the back-ordered clamps have been shipped.

In a previous post, I had stated that the rectangular tubes (on the Concours model) would be aluminized or stainless steel. We have been unable to acquire the correct cross-section in either aluminized or stainless steel, so all of the rectangular tubes are regular steel with a high-heat (VHT "Satin Clear") coating. The front connectors, front "mufflers", over-axle pipes, resonators and tips are all aluminized steel.

Several people have requested a 2 1/4" version of the Arvinode system. We will produce our first prototype for evaluation on a 69 Mustang (429 SCJ) and, once we are satisfied with the results, we will make that model available for purchase.

We hope you all enjoy the sound and performance benefits of your new exhaust systems and we are looking forward to hearing your cars!

Arvinode update from Waldron's Antique Exhaust

We are proud to announce that we are ready to accept orders for our reproduction of the Arvinode system.

    There are two models available:

The "Concours" model includes 2 intermediate connector pipes with 2 "Ford" style saddle clamps (for connection to your existing H pipe), 2 wave-tuned front mufflers (with the rectangular tubes welded to the front muffler shells), 2 over-axle pipes and 2 rear resonators with turndowns.

The Concours model price is $499.

The "Base" model includes the same intermediate pipes, over-axle pipes and resonators as the Concours version, but the wave-tuned front mufflers in the Base version do NOT include the external rectangular tubes. Also, the saddle clamps are not identical to the original Ford parts; two (2) standard saddle clamps are included with this system.

The price of the Base model is $379.

Like the original Arvinode system, the components of these systems are designed to be welded together. The 2 clamps provided with the system are for attaching the intermediate pipes to your existing H pipe. If you prefer to use clamps on your system, additional clamps are available at extra cost.

Reproductions of the original hangers and brackets are not available at this time. We recommend the use of universal hangers for the over-axle pipes and the currently available GT hangers for the rear resonator tips. These parts are not included in the system prices.

    Hello all,

Thank you for your interest and patience!

Once we receive the sound and fit results of the Proto IV system, we will finalize our prices and provide the information here as soon as possible.

Initially, we will have pricing for the system from the H pipe rearward, including intermediate pipes, mufflers, over-axle pipes and resonators with turn-downs. Eventually, we will add the brackets and hangers.

We are happy that we have been able to re-create this bit of Mustang history!
