All I know is that it worked and ran when it was on the motor, but that's it. If there's any other qeustions that would help me find out more, by all means ask away. I think I'm more interested in the history and type of car that it came off of right now. I'll try to post some pics of it later.

Hey guys, I'm a new guy to the forum here, just kind of passing thru and looking for some help.
What I have is an original Autolite 4100 series carb that came on a 302 that a bought from a guy a couple years ago. The motor originally came out of a 'stang whose details I cannot recall, but I know that it wasn't the original motor, and judging by the casting numbers, is made of a hodgepodge of parts from different years. The motor is now in my project '62 fairlane, but that's another matter entirely. A new edelbrock is sitting in place of the Autolite right now.
The tag on this carb gives me the number "C6ZF C", and right below that in smaller letters, "B 6FA". On the base is stamped "6Z C", and there is also a number that I assume is a casting date that reads 11-5-63. Is there any number that I should be looking for?
From what I've read so far, it looks like that carb was originally equipment on a 289-HiPo with a manual trans, but that's about all I know. It was bolted to a C8ZE 4-barrel cast iron intake, along with a carb spacer, but I haven't looked at the spacer close enough to see any numbers on that.
What I'm looking for is some more detailed info on what this carb is and what it was originally used on, and possibly a value too. It's obviously a bit grungy on the outside and the throttle plates have some corrosion, but other than that it looks to be complete, along with the linkage (as far as I can tell, anyways) and the motor ran ok with it when I got it. I know that this carb really should go to a restorer, and it doesn't belong with a fairlane motor, obviously. So any help would be great.
Thanks,
-Chris
