I had a casting company look at these for me and they were wondering why they couldn't be made of cast aluminum. Cast iron would be very pricey. any ideas?

Looking for 64 dated leaf springs or just the center leaf email me jim@shelbyparts.com

Interesting how they assemble those. The stud is spot welded in before they are welded together. Ill see what I can do to make these correctly
-
has anyone made the intermediate mount with the stud or just had the studs made. i may make them if nobody has made them before. Same goes with the frame mounts. I recall seeing some repos with the C4ZE number on them some years back at an MCA show

I looked in to the tooling to do this part correctly with a deep draw die . Its around $3K not counting the actual stamping cost which would be $30 per part. Minimum production run of 250 parts. So it would be dead cost of $42 per part to make . Rule of thumb on a low production run like this is to break even at selling 50% of the run so you'd have to retail them at between $200 and $250. Im guessing from the response ive gotten so far is that it would take 10-15 years years to sell out the production run but that's not set in stone. Ive found out in this business that once you make a part the there's no rush to buy and no guarantee you will ever sell out. I have a few parts we've made on speculation that we will never recoup our investment. If someone else wants to make these correctly and can do better than that, let me know and Ill buy them from you.

I know its on the high side but you also have a rust free no problem housing. You can easily spend 20 Hrs. repairing a rust belt housing and thats what you end up with, a rusty housing full of bondo and primer. These you can glass bead prime and paint

I ran in to a guy that has two mint original hipo axle tubes. They are the best ones Ive ever seen. he has a 65 version and a 66 version. He wants to sell them both for $4K and he wont separate. he wants all or none. I only need one and my car is such that is could be either one being a very early 66. if anyone wants a super mint housing give me a call. If I cant find someone to buy one Ill keep looking. 67 GT500 rear axle assembly for sale:
I just acquired a complete drum to drum rear end for 67 GT500. This includes correct (SPEC) nodular case with matching Daytona Pinion support and 31 spline track lock w/350 gears, correct yolk, 67 style rebound plate with rubber bumper, correct 54 inch axle tube with large filler plug, KH Backing Plates, KH 2 ½ drums, 31 spline axles. I hate to separate it out so Im putting it up here. All parts are from a desert car so the metal is very nice. I priced out what the parts should go for individually and its more than I need for this one. Right now the 3rd member has been rebuilt and is ready to plug in. price for this Package is $4995. If you want to have this restored properly and show ready to bolt in complete with brake shoes , cylinders, springs, prebent and flex lines $5995. We probably spend 40 Hrs detailing something like this so that’s a bargain. We will build a crate and pack it well. I have people calling me every day for these parts so I know how hard they are to get. All of these parts are one year only and to find them all in one place is very rare. This will bolt in to any 67-70 Mustang like a shot! Call me at (920) 434 3645 Thanks Jim@shelbyparts.com

he misunderstood, he thought you were asking about the 3rd member rebound plate that bolt to the rear end. I still have the one that welds to the body. Im putting it on Ebay this weekend if you dont want it. email me at jim@shelbyparts.com if you want me to send it for inspection JC
