I've found it on several carpet vendor web sites, but being special order I was hesitant to buy it without some feedback by someone who has used it. That's why I had asked about it on the VMF... The regular Mustang vendors don't seem to offer it, guess they don't want to deal with special orders.

I had asked about the mass backed carpet on VMF and got no responses. Glad to hear it is a superior product. Not looking forward to but sounds like I will be replacing my bullcrap carpeting soon.
I could not find this offered by any of the usual Mustang vendors, and is vaguely mentioned on the ACC website. I found more information about it searching other carpet suppliers. I might have to make a visit to see it in person...

I have never seen a vin on the mating surface, they are always on the rough cast part towards the front of the motor. If you don't see it...look again, scrub harder, get out the super high power flashlight or some silly putty. If it is original...the number will be there.
I'm a firm believer Ford stamped all k-code blocks at the factory (well, theres always a chance a few slipped by). Here's a pic of my VIN stamping. You can't see it all in the picture and I could barely make it out in person but it's there. Like Rob said scrub and look harder. If you don't find a VIN stamp and the date codes all match up I'd be very surprised.

The engine ID tag listed in NPD is a sticker that goes on either your coil or your waterpump depending on production date. Marti is the place for the metal tag that mounts on the intake...

Dave, your thermostat housing bolts should be painted block color as well...

I used the Krylon semi-flat and waxed them. Looks about right to me. Eastwood's underhood black is close but just slightly to glossy.

Send 'em my way and I'll post them for you.

This one is stretching my boundaries but am gonna try to make it if work and finances hold out. Any chance of a Korral if we get enough people to commit?

I would start there and see what you have. Can you post or link to any pics of the car? We LUV pics!

A rust free 44,000 mile car I'd be tempted to do nothing to it other than maintenance and aquiring some of the correct parts that may be gone. Unrestored can be good!
-
I believe it depends on if the car is a California emissions car, not so much date. My 66 has no nipple on the oil filler/breather cap

I believe early 65's they were placed on the water pump as your pictures show. Sometime during the 65 model year they started installing them on the coil or coil bracket.

The second edition is 67-72 I believe.

I just went to order it online and cheapest shipping they offered to me was FedEx Home Delivery for $11.11 so I didn't order it.
I may call them tomorrow to see if they can do any better than that. Shouldn't cost any more than $5 to ship this puppy....

Looks like the maintenance did a world of good for the site, it sure is flying right now...

b9folk,
I commonly call that setup the poormans air shock system!! I think you'll be happy getting that tire back into the wheelwell again.
Tom
Hey, that's BETTER than air shocks, probably less likely to push the shocks through the trunk floor... lol

No, your image simply shows the 2 reinforcements for the rear hold-down plates.
The later GT style reinforcements are closer to the hole.
Charles is correct. Here are pictures of one of my frame rails before and after...
Before:

After relocating the exhaust support to the new frame rail:

Of course this doesn't apply to the subject at hand for early kars...

Ebay would have been my suggestion as well. 4bbl intakes are not hipo specific and can be had for a fair price. Most sellers don't list the date codes so sometimes asking a question can get what you are looking for for a bargain price.
Good luck!
