As I thought. The oil pan was purchased from Tony Branda and I must admit that I was disappointed by the finish, especially the front and rear oil seal area. The casting was that rough that I had to build up the low points. It would have leaked for sure.

The engine has a windage tray fitted and I am fitting the pan while the engine is still in the car, so is not as easy as it could be.

Thanks for you replys. I will keep at it.

    Hi Guys

I am having problems fitting an alloy cobra oil pan to my K code engine. The oil pump pick up screen hits the back edge of the pan where it drops down. By my calculations, the screen needs to be further forward by aprox 3/4 of an inch (20mm).

Is there a special pick up tube assy for this pan or do you modify the standard one?? I would prefer to get the correct part if possible.

    Cheers

    Hi Rene

The contact for the steering wheel coatings is MAD Coatings(marine/automotive/3 dimensional coatings) Contact is Brian Hastings, http://www.mad-coatings.com, ph (07) 3821 7160

Brian does not repair the steering wheels, only applies the coatings. You will need to remove the chrome rivets as well.

Just use a small wiring soldering iron to do this. Put the point in the centre of the rivet and the heat will melt the glue.

    Hi Rene

Thanks for your comments. My car is a driver, really needs a repaint/rebuild to be a show car. I intend to strip and rebuild the car in the future. All about time.

The steering wheel was done here in Brisbane. It is the standard thickness. The guy does wood grain, carbon fibre finihes etc. It is alot brighter than the orginal but looks great and the finish will last many years. I can send you his address /contact if you want. I do recommend that the wheel does not have any cracks.

    Cheers

Here's some pics of my 65 K GT fastback.

Has some Shelbly GT350 up grades, small lettered Shelby inlet manifold, holley carb, tri y headers, lowered etc. Runs strong and is fun to drive. The car has a number matching engine, gearbox, and diff, but rear ratio has been changed from 4.1 to a road 3.5

    Hi Everyone

I have looked at this site for a number of years and I am impressed with the knowledge and advice given to members. I currently own a 65 GT K fastback and have owned many mustangs over the past 30years including shelbys, bosses, 428CJs and k codes. Showing my age here!

Look forward to meeting some members in the future.
