I agree with you. I don't think they cared back then like they do now on what color car gets what color interior.

As far as the interior not according to my friends book. Those choices that I stated above were the only colors in pony for a red car.

Can somone tell me if ragoon red came with the F5 interior combo. I looked up in a friends book that red only came with these color combos in pony 65, 66, f6 and f9. Not F5 Thanks

The carb is correct for the car and was sent off I think a year ago to pony carbs and was bebuilt. He had a receipt for it. I couldn't believe that shingle was there either. I didn't peel it back to see if it had body work done under it. The car just wasn't described to me to well. He said it was a nice driver car. I would have called it a totally unrestored solid car with a paint job about 15 years ago on it and a rough roof. The car is not driveable until you fix the gas leaks and the overheating problem. I didn't see any water in the oil so I would think the heads and block are good. But I can't say for sure. I never cranked up the car to hear ot run.

That is actually a roof shingle. On the right side there is some insualtion stuck in very front of the quarter panel as well. I assume the owner before the present one had something to do in construction and maybe tried to make it have less road noise. Not really sure.

The car will require a lot of work but will be nice when finished. I could have sworn that the owner told me it had white interior with red appointments. Well you can only get that in black appts. with the red exterior color. I have tried to contact him and no response. The last time I spoke to him he said that the car was leaking fuel at the fuel pump and at the sending unit and probably would not be able to be drivin for a test drive until both gas leaks were fixed. The car has power steering on it right now that is leaking everywhere and it looked like a possible rear main seal leak. If your going to pull the engine to rebuild it then that shouldn't be a issue at all. If any one has any qiuestions I will try and answer them to the best of my ability. I'm going to pass on the car unless he sells it to me for my $26,500 offering price. I really don't want to spend for then 25k for it though.

I have seen the car. I have posted in the general discussion about it if you want to read on it. It's a complete car that will need everything. Engine rebuild, new interior, paint and body work, front end you know the whole nine. The roof is kind of bad. IT would have been nice if he would have taken some pics of it.

This car will require a lot of work to make it a nice car

That is the car. It looks better in the pictures then in person.

This car is for sale right now in Hemmings for 50K

I sure will give you the info. I will shoot you a pm if I decide not to buy.

Thanks for thr words of advice. I have only passed on one car that I really regret but I didn't have the money at the time. I was shy by 5K. I will be giving this some really thought now.
-
Well I called the owner back to see if he still has this car and he does. I hit him at $26,500 and he said that I could have it for $27,500. What do you guys think at that price?
-
I have done a lot of thinking and adding up on the car to see what I will be in it for. I agree that I could probably find one completed for what this one will cost. The only thing that sells me on this car is all original sheetmetal and every last thing is there. No hunting for motor mounts or a fan or a pulley. Nothing at all. I think that it might be hard to find a car that is this complete. But I think for now i'm going to have to stand firm at my offer of 25K and see what happens. Thanks Again for all the great advice.

I will for sure be giving it some thought. 5K more now could mean 10K more later. I know what you mean by you passing on that shelby.
-
66GT I don't think this guy cares if he has to hold on to it or not. He said that he has already turned down a offer from his friend that always hits him low for 25K. As far as meeting in the middle that was what I was going to do next. I was thinking maybe $26,500 and see what he says. I don't know if I would be upset if the car sells. I just feel 30K is on the high end. I would probably get my money back but I want some room to breathe. Thanks again for all the advice
-
Well I just got off the phone with the guy. He seems pretty firm at 30K. I don't know if I want to pay that much for it. I don't know what to do.
-
Well i'm bigger so I would have to say that I would.
-
Thanks for all the replys. I will give the guy a call today and see if he has thought about my price. Thanks
-
I would love to get it for 15K. I don't think he is going to budge. He is asking 30K for the car and I offered him 25K for it. The drive train alone is worth over 10K with all the hard to find parts and they are all there no hunting at all. Do you guys feel that 25K would be a good price for this car? Like I said earlier all original sheetmetal with no rust. The body would need just normal body work and paint. The roof would require a little more attention. Thanks
